Whenever we have released posts about moving to KitKat or nightlies or new devices, inevitably some of the first comments tend to be everything from "Y U NO LIKE MAGURO" to "OMNI HATES CATS" to "ETA on Maguro builds" to "Does Xplodwild like the cha-cha?" Obviously only a few of those are correct (we'll let you pick which ones), but it all boils down to this: The Galaxy Nexus GSM, after Google stated they would not be releasing official Android 4.4 for the Maguro, still remains one of the more sought-after devices for aftermarket firmware. And we have been listening.

We love open-source, and we love it when open-source becomes useful. Unfortunately, some of the apps you have become accustomed to are closed down and proprietary. For example, the KitKat Dialer. Google's new dialer application in KitKat brought with it some new, cool features like Caller ID and integrated Phone Directory but at the expense of not including those features in the open source AOSP Dialer.

A lot has happened in the few, short months that Omni has been public and we thought it would be a great opportunity to reflect on the last 3 months and to look to the future. After going public the middle of October with a presentation by XpLoDWilD at the BABBQ 13, we have had contributions from over 90 contributors, deployed over 30 nightly builds, brought some new, open source features to the Android community for all to use, and deployed OpenDelta - all in just over 3 months. Whew!
